1. Opening
Good morning everyone.
Today, we are going to talk about Friendship.
Friends are an important part of our lives. They make us laugh, support us, and share our experiences.
Do you know that friends also influence the way we think, behave, and make choices?
A good friend encourages us to do what is right and helps us become a better person.
That is why today’s theme is:
“Choose Your Friends Carefully.”
This does not mean judging others. It means choosing friends who encourage us, support us, and bring out the best in us.
2. Mindful Start
Let us take a few moments to think about what true friendship really means.
Let us sit quietly.
- Take a deep breath in.
- Slowly breathe out.
- Let us do this three times.
- Now close your eyes.
Think of a friend who is kind, supportive, and trustworthy.
Think about how that friendship makes you feel.
Take one final deep breath.
Now slowly open your eyes.
Positive Affirmation
Let us say together:
- I will choose good friends.
- I will be a good friend to others.
- I will make wise choices.
3. Learn New ways to Talk
Feature “Words of the Week” in both spoken language and sign Language. Students are encouraged to implement the idea throughout the week.
- One student says, “Choose friend”, another student demonstrates it in sign language. All students try this.
- One student says, “Carefully”, another student demonstrates it in sign language. All students try this.
Repeat a few times and allow the students to get the sign language perfectly.
4. The Spotlight
Story on “Choose your Friend Carefully”
Video of the Story and Video with ISL are provided.
5. Gratitude moment
We just saw how Ashok was relieved to be safe but felt bad for following Abhay who would have got him into trouble.
Let us take a quiet moment.
Think about a friend who has been kind and supportive to you.
Maybe they helped you when you needed help.
Maybe they listened to you when you were upset.
Maybe they stood by you when you felt alone.
In your heart, silently say:
“Thank you for being my friend.”
Let us also try to be good friends to others.
6. Inclusive Prayer (Universal)
Let us pray together (A teacher or student can lead and the children can follow)
May we have the wisdom to choose what is right.
May we surround ourselves with people who inspire us to walk on the right path.
May we choose friends who encourage us to do our best.
May our words be kind and our actions be honest.
May we be good friends to others.
Thank you.

8. Closing message
Friendship is an important part of our lives.
The friends we choose can influence our thoughts, choices, and actions.
Good friends encourage us to do what is right.
They support us, respect us, and help us grow.
Let us choose friends who bring out the best in us.
Most importantly, let us be that kind of friend to others.
Remember: The best way to find a good friend is to be a good friend ourselves.
9. Reflections
Before we leave, let us reflect on a few thoughts…
- Do my friends encourage me to do the right thing?
- Can I trust my friends and talk to them honestly?
- Am I a good influence on my friends?
- Am I the kind of friend I would like to have?
Remember:
A true friend is not the person who always agrees with you.
A true friend is the one who helps you become your best self.

Adaptations to address variability in an inclusive classroom
The variability of an inclusive environment needs to address the processing and attention differences among learners. An inclusive environment may include learners with visual impairments, hearing impairments, locomotor impairments and cognitive differences. Learners not only learn in different ways, but also possess unique motivations, interests, personalities and strengths. To address this variability, providing appropriate adaptations is an effective solution.
